Employment history
    Dec. 1998 - to-date Millennium IT Software, Colombo, Sri Lanka - Software Engineer
    Member of the Wireless Computing team that is responsible for developing Short Messaging solutions on mobile phones
    (AnyWare) for the telecommunication industry. AnyWare is a distributed processing solution on industry standard
    middle-ware that interfaces to telecommunication short messaging entities.

    As a member, designed and implemented FOREX (foreign exchange) solution, where customers can view the foreign
    exchange information on their mobile phones; designed and implemented the mobile phone originated Email and Fax (with
    billing module) solutions for Dialog GSM Sri Lanka. Also, involved in design and development of a process administrator on
    Sun Solaris platform. Currently working on design and implementation of back-end process to integrate Customer Care and
    Billing System (CCBS) and AnyWare at Dialog GSM. In addition to that presently engaged in research on WAP (Wireless
    Application Protocol) and its applications.

    Responsible for liaison with customers in analysing requirements and drawing up requirement specifications. Competent in
    IBM compatible PCs and user level experience in Sun Sparc/Ultra range of computers. Extensive working experience on
    Java, C/C++, WinNT/95/98, Rendezvous middle-ware, Oracle and basic knowledge of Sun Solaris. Good working
    experience on POP3 and SMTP protocols.

    Oct. 1996 - Sep 1997 Union Bank of Colombo Ltd., Colombo, Sri Lanka - Junior Project Member (Internship)
    As a junior project member of the team, involved in the complete development of the front office Banking system. Mainly
    involved in the customer signature maintenance system for the Bank and software and system installations at its various
    branches.

    Duties and responsibilities were; system analysis and design, coding, preparation of test data and methodologies for testing
    programs; ensuring that the set programming and documentation standards of the project are followed, Documentation and
    Implementation. Extensive experience with Delphi, WinNT/95 and MS SQL server and IBM compatible PCs.
